The Seattle, Washington Russian Consulate has been ordered closed by the Trump Administration. The consulate is in close proximity to a US Navy Submarine Base and a Boeing aircraft factory.
This is the latest page in a story that has called into question the very integrity of our election system. This recent expulsion is in response to the nerve agent attacks carried out by the Russian government in the UK.
It is thought to be a measure to reduce the ability of the Russian government to spy on certain US operations. 48 of the diplomats are in Seattle and 12 are assigned to the United Nations. They have been given a week to comply with the order to leave US soil.
How this affects the still ongoing Mueller investigation is yet to be seen. WIth this bold move it seems that the Trump administration is attempting to take a more proactive stance against Russian interference in American affairs.
