CNN Poll Puts Trump 14 Points Behind Biden Nationally

Biden is leading the president by 55 to 41 percent in the new study

A new poll by CNN shows President Trump trailing 14 points behind former Vice President Joe Biden.

Biden Leads in Polls

A national CNN survey released on Monday puts President Trump 14 points behind presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, a number twice as high as previous and other polls. Per CNN’s survey, Trump’s approval rating sits at 38%, taking a dive of 7 points from the last poll, as the disapproval rating rose 6 points to 57%.

Biden is leading the president by 55 to 41 percent in the new study – close to triple the 5-point margin previously observed by CNN. NBC News/Wall Street Journal surveys put the difference between the two contenders for the White House at 7 points in favor of Biden, with the average of the last national general election matchup polls putting Biden on top by 7.8%.

CNN’s survey, however, was conducted Tuesday through Friday – likely missing Friday’s unemployment report, which shocked economists and experts, who predicted that the jobless level would continue to rise. The report instead showed that 2.5 million jobs were created last month, once again leading to a drop in unemployment.

President Trump quickly took to Twitter to blast the news station’s poll, saying that the numbers shown are “as Fake as their reporting.”

The survey was conducted by SSRS June 2-5, with 1,259 people interviewed nationwide, and a sampling error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.
