Ed Brodow: Obama the Racist Comes Out of the Closet

For the entire term of his presidency, Obama tried to hide his racist views from the public. This week he opened his big mouth when the teleprompters were turned off and some unpleasant truths came crawling out. Now we know how he really feels about the nation that embraced him for eight years. Now we know without a doubt that Obama hates America and its white inhabitants.

In a CNN interview this week, Obama griped that white people are angry because they have to share the country with non-whites. That’s why whites are upset by critical race theory, he said, when they really ought to be concerned with “important matters” like climate change. Here it is described on Fox News: “He went on to slam conservative media for ‘capitalizing’ on what he described as the ‘fear’ of White people toward changing demographics in the U.S.”

"You would think with all the public policy debates that are taking place right now,” Obama told CNN’s Anderson Cooper, “the Republican Party would be engaged in a significant debate about how are we going to deal with the economy, what are we going to do about climate change, what are we going to do about—lo and behold, the biggest single most important issue to them apparently right now is critical race theory. Who knew that was the threat to our republic?"

We all knew, Mr. Obama.

Critical race theory, which is designed to create internal strife, is one of two paramount threats to America. (Open borders is the other one.) One of the worst ideas ever invented by the Left, CRT wants to reintroduce racism and segregation to the forefront of American life. CRT argues that all white people are evil racists. No exceptions. CRT is being used by leftist-controlled school boards across the country to indoctrinate small children so they grow up ashamed of their skin color. CRT is being used as justification for cancelling white peoples’ attempts to make a living. "Being white carries so much of a social stigma,” writes Robert Spencer in PJMedia, “that it results in job discrimination and more.”

Evidently Obama has no problem with this overt anti-white racism. He thinks that if whites refuse to accept race bashing, that makes them racists. If they don’t prostrate themselves before CRT, he believes, it is because they are afraid of black and brown population growth.

The obvious weakness in Obama’s argument is clear when you turn CRT upside down. Imagine if CRT argued that all black people are evil and should apologize for their skin color. We would witness riots making last year’s protests pale in comparison. Blacks would go crazy with anger and rage. But according to Obama, whites should be happy to comply with the inquisition that CRT is mobilizing against them. They should simply take their medicine and shut up. This is a far cry from Obama’s response back in 2008 when he was asked to comment on Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s outspoken anti-American rhetoric. At that time, Obama claimed to be outraged at Wright’s racist comments. What we are witnessing now is the real Obama that was lurking underneath the entire time.

Journalist Christopher Rufo, who has written extensively about the divisive impact of CRT, sees Obama’s comments as evidence that the Left’s anti-white campaign is losing momentum. "They have now deployed former president Barack Obama to defend, downplay, and deflect from critical race theory," said Rufo. “We are making incredible progress. Keep pushing forward."

As usual, Obama takes no responsibility for his actions, blames everything on others, and is angry because his adoring fans are not deceived by him as they were in 2008. In the CNN interview, Obama tries to absolve himself from responsibility for the racially provocative statements he made as president, in particular his response to the 2009 arrest of Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. In that incident, Obama provoked a savage reaction from the black community when he accused the Cambridge Police of acting "stupidly" for arresting Gates. In retrospect, the only “stupid” action was Obama’s mistimed interference in a local police matter—interference that caused civil unrest.

We need to recognize that bashing whites is the direction of the Democratic Party. With the help of identity politics, social justice, and critical race theory, the Democrats want to divide the country in preparation for destroying the two-party system. Don’t believe it? Just listen to Obama.
