For veterans, coming back into the civilian world poses many challenges. One of those challenges is finding employment. To help these veterans who are struggling to find jobs after their service, Google has upgraded its job search widget with features that help service members find positions that coincide with their military experience. The update is a part of the company’s “Grow with Google” initiative which grants a number of tools and resources for Americans to develop their careers.
Military personnel, veterans, and their spouses just need to search in Google “jobs for veterans” and enter their military job codes to find jobs that use the skill set they acquired in the military. Google has also updated their business listings to show if a business is owned or operated by a veteran. The company has also created a $2.5 million grant to the United Service Organization(USO) to provide training IT training to former service members.
