Reactionary Times Endorsement: Steve Lonegan for Congress

Steve Lonegan is a man I'm proud to call a friend. I met him 4 years ago when he was running in the special election for US Senate after Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) died while in the middle of his term.

The first time I heard him speak in person was at a Tea Party meeting in Morris County NJ and I immediately knew that Lonegan was a no-nonsense, hardcore Patriot with a true sense of loyalty to our constitution. His positions on Obamacare, the 2nd Amendment and Immigration enforcement were completely inline with my beliefs and the beliefs of all the patriots present at the meeting.

Lonegan's speech that night came immediately after speeches by Congressmen Leonard Lance (R-NJ) and Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ). The differences between the RINO Congressmen and Lonegan were apparent immediately. Squishy Northeastern Republicans like Lance and Frelinghuysen have long been the problem in our splintered Republican party and Lonegan embodied the perfect solution for Jersey conservatives clamoring for a genuine red state style Republican.

He opened up 35 points behind the eventual winner, then Newark, NJ Mayor Corey Booker (D-NJ) but had cut the once seemingly insurmountable lead to a much slimmer 10 point deficit by the time all the votes would be counted. During the campaign, Lonegan also wiped the floor with Booker in a debate held at NJ's Rowan University:

I would also get to know Steve when we worked closely on the Presidential campaign of Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX). Steve showed his chops as a true professional and leader as Cruz consistently outperformed polling in the states he participated in and was instrumental in the huge Iowa victory that kicked off the Primary in style for the Cruz campaign.

Steve is a family man, a successful businessman and a true leader and friend. It is in the best interest of the 5th congressional district of NJ to elect a principled, dedicated and hardworking representative to Congress. That man is Steve Lonegan.
