Donald Trump is said to be considering firing FBI Director Christopher Wray after the November election. The sources claim the US president is disappointed that federal officials have not provided the information he thinks he needs to win the election. In this case, it concerns launching an investigation into Trump’s opponent Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
According to Washington Post, the president insisted on actions similar to those taken by former FBI Director James Comey, before the election in 2016. Just eleven days ahead of the vote, Comey stated the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server had been reopened, which some see as a key factor in Trump’s victory.
The sources added that Donald Trump and his advisors consider Christopher Wray as a poor choice to lead the FBI, while White House spokesman Judd Deere stated that “if the president doesn’t have confidence in someone he will let you know.”
To support the investigation into the Biden's, the US president and his assistants referred to the now infamous article in the New York Post accusing Hunter Biden of introducing a Ukrainian businessman to Joe Biden when he was vice president.
Nonetheless, on Tuesday, the FBI Assistant Director Jill Tyson stated they “can neither confirm nor deny the existence of any ongoing investigation or persons or entities under investigation, including to Members of Congress.”
