Trump to Hannity: Democrats ‘Don’t Want Facts to Come Out’

“What they’re doing now is something that’s never been done before. They don’t want the facts to come out,” President Trump told Fox News’ Sean Hannity, about Democrats conducting an inquiry in secret and refusing to make impeachment proceedings official.

Although the president is amused and celebrating the witnesses Democrats have selected, saying he only knows most of them by name, he says they are “actually turning out to be better witnesses for us,” and that the refusal to make proceedings official is blocking Republicans from calling witnesses and making its case.

“We have no lawyers – Republicans, because it’s the minority – we have no lawyers. We can’t question; we can’t do a thing. They can’t even go in the room in many cases,” Trump said, adding that that Democrats’ actions only prove how unfair this process is.

“To impeach over a letter like that – but they don’t mention the letter anymore. They don’t mention whistleblowers, and they don’t mention any of these people anymore,” the president said regarding the transcript of his July 25 call with President Zelensky, which was the whole reason the impeachment inquiry was announced by Pelosi.

“Adam Schiff said he don’t want the whistleblower anymore, you know why? Because he might have given the whistleblower the things to say,” Trump said.

“To me impeachment is just a dirty, disgusting word. The only reason they’re impeaching is they’re looking at the polls. Moody’s just came out with three scenarios: Trump wins easily. … Who would play a dirty game like this,” the president added.
