

Twitter has announced they will bring back chronological timeline feed. Instead of showing the best tweets firsts, the platform is now giving you the option to see tweets in chronological order. Users will be able to go back to a chronological timeline by going into their settings and unchecking the “Show the best tweets first” box.
5/ Meanwhile, today we updated the “Show the best Tweets first” setting. When off, you’ll only see Tweets from people you follow in reverse chronological order. Previously when turned off, you’d also see “In case you missed it” and recommended Tweets from people you don’t follow.

The company states they have been planning the update for some time and will test it during the following weeks. The goal is to grant its user base more control over how they see their tweets. Initially, users' tweeter feed would display tweets in reverse chronological order. However, this was changed for a feed curated by an algorithm showing the most relevant and popular tweets. Twitter users welcome the update since many preferred viewing their content in chronological order .
