Virginia Citizens Rally Around 2nd Amendment Fight

Thousands and thousands of gun owners and gun rights advocates gathered in a rally on Monday to peacefully “address our Legislature,” proving many of the state leaders’ beliefs that chaos and violence would ensue wrong.

Virginia a ‘Warzone’ for Anti and Pro-Guns Advocates

A huge rally, with thousands of demonstrators, many of which with weapons, who are engaged in battle with Democrats over proposed gun bans in Virginia, displayed all varieties of weapons, stickers, while chanting “USA” and singing the national anthem.

“The sheer number here speaks for itself. I hope our legislators will back off. Today was the civil rights march of my life,” Matthew French, 40, said, calling the rally a huge success, and hoping that the crowd was able to reach the legislators.

Plenty of warnings from Gov. Ralph Northam and fear that out-of-state hate groups and militias will bring about violence or the demonstrators will do it themselves, as believed by some of the legislators, were proved wrong.
“You got thousands of guns and not a single bullet fired,” Tom Rohde, 49, of West Point said.

Many of the attendees also lined up to enter the state Capitol, where they had to pass a security checkpoint, with heavy police presence. All was done in a civilized and calm manner, with no reports of violence whatsoever on either side.

A state of emergency Friday through Tuesday was declared by Gov. Northam, with all weapons being banned in the square around the Capitol building, due to “credible” threats from out-of-state hate groups.

Despite the rumored threats and guns at the rally, it seems the demonstrators’ main point came through – the fact that it’s not the guns by themselves that are dangerous, but that they become dangerous tools in the wrong hands.
