White House: No Cooperation for ‘Unconstitutional’ Impeachment Probe

Congressional Democrats’ latest investigations surrounding the impeachment of the President has been called “unconstitutional” and dangerous for the future of America by the White House, and they are saying that they will refuse their cooperation.

“Your unprecedented actions have left the president with no choice. In order to fulfill his duties to the American people, the Constitution, the executive branch and all future occupants of the office of the presidency, President Trump and his administration cannot participate in your partisan and unconstitutional inquiry under these circumstances,” White House counsel, Pat A. Cipollone said in a letter.

The letter was made public shortly after a witness interview with Gordon D. Sondland was blocked. While Democrats believe that the refusal to cooperate might be an indicator that Trump has something to hide, which could be seen as an impeachable offense, it could also completely destroy the case, leaving no witnesses or evidence.

“The White House should be warned that continued efforts to hide the truth of the president’s abuse of power from the American people will be regarded as further evidence of obstruction. Mr. President, you are not above the law. You will be held accountable,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a statement.

President Trump then took shots at Democrats on Twitter:

“The Do Nothing Democrats are Con Artists, only looking to hurt the Republican Party and President. Their total focus is 2020, nothing more and nothing less. The good news is that WE WILL WIN!!!!” the President tweeted.
