Frances Cogelja resigned from her position as trustee in Hackensack’s Board of Education after she had a mishap during a video conference. The New Jersey woman stepped down from her post after she accidentally broadcasted her bathroom break during a Zoom meeting.
Zoom Fail Forces Trustee to Resign
Sometime later, Hackensack Board of Education vice president Scott James-Vickery stated that “while our teachers are being professional and you’re at home, sitting on the toilet, we are moving on with this district doing what’s best.”
Cogelja embarrassing little accident might not be the only reason for her resignation, as she was already facing pressure from students’ parents over anti-LGBT sentiments.
Frances Cogelja’s vacant position has to be fulfilled until January 29, next year. The former board trustee refused to comment on the issue.
In the summer, NorthJersey.com reported Cogelja’s statement of how “disgusted and appalled” she was for studying LGBT history at schools. Cogelja's comments were harshly criticized by students’ parents who insisted on her resignation.
