The World Health Organization was revealed to have been ignoring warnings sent way back in December, according to Taiwanese sources.
Coronavirus Threat Was Downplayed By The WHO
The WHO is being accused of not taking the Coronavirus threat seriously early enough in an attempt to possibly protect the Chinese government, as Taiwan released a December email inquiring about the person-to-person spread of the then-unidentified COVID-19.

Taiwan had asked for information on at least seven cases of atypical pneumonia in Wuhan, with Chinese health authorities replying that the cases “were believed not SARS,” and under investigation.
Taiwan has been excluded from the WHO for a while now as a result of an ongoing conflict with China, who refuses to acknowledge the country’s sovereignty. The WHO denied receiving any such warning from Taiwan, but the country’s CDC said that they very specifically talked about “atypical pneumonia,” reminiscent of SARS.
Neither the WHO, nor China’s CDC provided any information to Taiwan to prepare the country for the outbreak, denying human-to-human transmission of the Coronavirus as late as January 14th.
The tensions over the Coronavirus outbreak have been rising, as US President Donald Trump has put a halt on funds meant for the World Health Organization.
The WHO in return has accused the US of “politicizing” the virus. So far the Coronavirus has infected more than 2 million people and killed at least 118,854 globally.
