2 Trillion Dollar Infrastructure Bill on Deck?

President Trump is calling for new coronavirus response bill – a $2 trillion infrastructure bill to serve as “Phase 4.”

Major Infrastructure Bill to Finally Come?

Ever since Trump became President, he’s been seeking to implement a major infrastructure bill and with the current crisis, resulting from COVID-19, it might finally become a reality. Trump seems to be pitching the plan as one that would help revive the infrastructure and economy of the nation after this period of uncertainty.

Democrats are looking for a fourth stimulus package, which would add more funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, a.k.a food stamps, as well as restrictions on airlines and pension protections.
Republicans, however, seem to be more keen on waiting to see the first three response legislations’ impact before making any others:

“I think we’ll have to wait and see. Remember, this bill was only signed into law last Friday. So it’s only been law for about four days,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on the “Hugh Hewitt Show.”

Last Friday saw the $2.2 trillion coronavirus stimulus package passed and signed into law by President Trump, surpassing all previous economic relief bills. The package features huge amounts of aid for all affected – small businesses, individuals and large corporations in an effort to minimize the economic damage caused by the Coronavirus.
