Amazon Offers to Assist With the Distribution of COVID-19 Vaccines In the US

Amazon offered to aid the federal government with the distributions of COVID-19 vaccines in the US. CEO of Amazon’s Worldwide Consumer Dave Clark sent a letter to Joe Biden, stating that the company is ready to assist him “in reaching your goal of vaccinating 100 million Americans in the first 100 days of your administration.”

Amazon Extends a Helping Hand

Apart from claiming that Amazon is ready to use its operations and communications capabilities to assist Biden’s administration with its vaccination initiatives, Clark added that they have signed an agreement with a third-party health-care provider to manage vaccines on-site at Amazon’s warehouses.

Dave Clark’s letter comes as the company has been competing for early access to COVID-19 immunizations for its front-line employees. In December, Clark asked a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention panel to provide Amazon’s front-line workers the coronavirus vaccine “at the earliest appropriate time,” pointing out that they have played a major part in helping consumers get all the essentials they might need during the pandemic.
