Biden Calls Out "Foul Play" Over Hunter's Criminal Tax Investigation

In an interview with Stephen Colbert, the comedian asked the President-elect how he feels about the fact that "the people who want to make hay in Washington are going to try to use your son as a cudgel against you.” Biden, along with his wife, stated that they have "great confidence" in their son and added that he is "not concerned about any accusations being made against him,” calling the investigation a “kind of foul play.”

The President-elect’s transition team explained that Joe Biden didn’t actually define the investigation itself as "foul play." His reference was aimed at Republicans, claiming they have been attacking his son’s work for months. When Stephen Colbert asked the President-elect how he is going to deal with the Republicans’ attacks, he replied that he would work with them regardless for good for America.

Recently, the U.S. Attorney in Delaware disclosed the investigation against Hunter Biden’s taxes, which started back in 2018. The accusations claim that Hunter was involved in illegal business dealings with the Ukrainian energy company Burisma and some Chinese nationals, which President Trump repeatedly noted in his 2020 rally.

On Thursday, Sen. Joe Manchin told Fox News he thinks that Joe Biden would not get involved with the investigation against his son because the President-elect "believes in the rule of law."
