Biden Wants You to Wear a Facemask for 100 Days

In an interview with CNN, Joe Biden said that on the first day of his inauguration, he would ask US residents to wear a mask as a “patriotic duty” for 100 days.

According to the President-elect, with this measure, “we’ll see a significant reduction” in the recent COVID-19 surge.

This is one of the first actions Biden intends to take against the virus, confronting Donald Trump’s skepticism of mask-wearing.

Recently, the President-elect urged Capitol Hill lawmakers to legislate a COVID-19 relief package, backing up a $900 billion compromise bill suggestion.

“That would be a good start,” Biden said, however, “It’s not enough,” thus he intends to ask for additional help as his transition team is working on its legislation.

Additionally, Joe Biden asked Dr. Anthony Fauci to be his “chief medical adviser” and keep performing his duties “in the exact same role he’s had for the past several presidents,” at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Biden also offered a credit plan for the development of COVID-19 vaccine, stating that its distribution will be “critically important.”

According to the President-elect, “it matters what a president and the vice president do” as “People have lost faith in the ability of the vaccine to work.”

Regarding Donald Trump’s pardons of his assistants, Biden stated that “You’re not going to see in our administration that kind of approach to pardons, nor are you going to see in our administration the approach to making policy by tweets.”
