Dan Perkins: People Seem To Be Missing the Real Story on Ukraine

The news media and the Democrats are having spasms over the two whistleblowers and their prospects thinking that this is finally the silver bullet to bring down President Trump. We found out that the first whistleblower made his filings based on second and third-hand knowledge and never heard any of the conversation. We are told that the second whistleblower can verify the claims of the first and has first-hand knowledge; however, we do not know what the second person actually knows. We have been told that the first is a registered Democrat.

I don't know what was said, but I do know Congressman Schiff, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, stood in his position as Chairman with the committee present and read his version of what he thought was the way the Ukraine call transcript should have read. The bottom line is that he lied to his committee members, and more importantly, he lied to the American people. The liberal America newspaper, The Washington Post, looked at what Schiff had done and awarded him 4 Pinocchio's for an outright falsehood: "The Washington Post's ’Fact Checker’ column on Friday gave House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) four Pinocchio's for claiming last month that his panel had ‘not spoken directly with the whistleblower’ who raised concerns about President Trump's dealings with Ukraine.”

The New York Times first reported that the whistleblower had consulted with Schiff's committee before filing the complaint. There are reports that Schiff or his staff have coached the second whistleblower. It also appears the same law firm is representing both whistleblowers. One question to be asked is who is paying the lawyers? While all of this is interesting theater, the most pressing question is not being asked by anyone, so I will ask it.

For these whistleblowers to actually say they heard the call means they had to be spying on the President. We are told that the first whistleblower works as a CIA officer. We do not know the position of the second whistleblower. I would ask, is he a member of the deep state? So far as we can tell at the moment, these people are not high-level employees of the CIA. If that is a true statement, then ask yourself this question, why would President Trump want low-level CIA operatives listening in on his phone call with the President of Ukraine?

I can understand the Secretary of State and perhaps other senior administration officials listening, but who makes the call and invites CIA personnel into the call without the President's permission? Attorney General Barr in congressional testimony suggested that the President and his campaign had been spied on by the Obama Administration. Many of us have long sought answers as to how many deep state Democrats are there in the government trying to disrupt what President Trump and his administration are doing for the country.

I believe there is collusion among deep state Democrats that are spying on the President of the United States and are trying to bring him down. These spies are putting our national security at risk. If they are listening in on presidential conversations, what are they doing with what they have learned? Are they selling or giving this information to our enemies?

The deep state does not run the country, and I believe that when all the reports come out from the Justice Department, we will all be shocked at how much these people have abused power. This is another example of the elites making our decisions for us because they believe we are too stupid to make important decisions on our own.

What scares me is that these whistleblowers are directly spying on the President as if it is their right, and we don't know whom else they are spying on. Here is a scary thought, and it is a direct quote from Andrew Bakaj, lead attorney for the first anonymous whistleblower, who said, "his legal team now represents ’multiple whistleblowers‘ related to President Trump's dealings with Ukraine."

Perkins Twist: I believe we are fast approaching the point where more and more Americans will become afraid that the central government is out of control. We are no longer a nation of laws or for that matter, people who believe in the laws of our nation. We have rogue individuals who believe they are above the law and only they can decide what is best for the country. What you and I think is no longer important. I have grave concerns that the only option left is a new Constitutional Convention of the states to reform our national government.
