Iran has just announced that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard have shot down a US drone flying in international airspace on Thursday. These military actions came only a few days after Iran’s suspected attack against two oil tankers. President Trump is meeting with senior white house and congress officials to discuss these aggressive actions by Iran.
According to Iran, the drone was violating its airspace and conducting spy operations for the US. The Pentagon disputes the claims stating the drone was flying in international airspace and in full compliance of international law.
It is safe to say that this move will further escalate the tensions between the two countries, with some experts believing this could possibly lead an armed conflict with Iran. While it is still premature to say that these actions could lead to military conflict, it is safe to say one thing:
