Facepalm: Gore Compares Climate Change to 9/11 Terror Attacks

Former US Vice President Al Gore compares climate change to historical battles and tragedies at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Climate Change = Thermopylae and... 9/11?

In his closing remarks at Switzerland’s World Economic Forum, Gore stressed the importance of climate change and how people underestimate how bad, adding getting it’s getting worse at an alarming rate. This climate change rhetoric is nothing new with Mr. Gore. However, the real knee-slapper begins when he starts comparing climate change to major historical battles and terrorist attacks:

“This is Thermopylae. This is Agincourt. This is the Battle of the Bulge. This is Dunkirk. This is 9/11. We have to rise to this occasion,” Gore said.

Gore has been talking about environmental issues since the 2000 presidential race, this time adding that the lack of political will is a significant problem in dealing with the issue.

“The burden to act on the shoulders of the generation of the people alive today is a challenge to our moral imagination. ... The young generation is a source of hope,” Gore said.

The former vice president also praised Greta Thunberg on Twitter for “speaking truth to power” and “fueling the flames by the hour.”
