Fox News: Whistleblower Had “Political Bias” Against Trump

The latest on the whistleblower’s accusation against President Trump – senior official told Fox News there were signs of “political bias” in favor of “a rival candidate” to Trump in the 2020 election.

Just several hours after Nancy Pelosi initiated a formal impeachment inquiry, news broke out of a possible political bias against President Trump due to a rival candidate, which was not named. Fox was also told by a source that it’s impossible for the allegator to have had firsthand knowledge of the July 25 call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky, raising further questions on how credible the complaint is.

Many Republicans’ weekend predictions saw Pelosi’s impeachment inquiry backfiring on the Democrats, even more so with Trump willing to release a full transcript of the aforementioned phone call by Wednesday.

Despite that, testimonies from the whistleblower himself as well as acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire are heavily awaited with Maguire’s testimony being at an open hearing on Thursday.

“We have been informed by the whistleblower’s counsel that their client would like to speak to our committee and has requested guidance from the Acting DNI as to how to do so,” House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff tweeted. “We’re in touch with counsel and look forward to the whistleblower’s testimony as soon as this week,” he added.

The decision whether or not to hold an impeachment vote will ultimately be made by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler after evidence is gathered and presented.

“Speaker Pelosi’s decision to pursue impeachment now – on the basis of unsubstantiated, indirect, and anonymous allegations – only shows that the Speaker has finally succumbed to unrelenting pressure from the socialist wing of the Democrat Party, “ House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Jim Jordan said. “This was never about Russian collusion or Ukrainian prosecutions. It is all about undoing the 2016 election and the will of the American people,” he elaborated.

So far 172 House Democrats have shown support for the impeachment inquiry out of 235 Democrats and 198 Republicans in the House, with one pro-impeachment independent. For the impeachment to be successful a majority would need to win the vote – a highly unlikely scenario.

A meeting between Trump and Zelensky in New York on Wednesday, though at first unrelated to the allegation, will most certainly be met with questions about the matter.
