Trump Takes a Stand Against Globalism at UN/Jabs Iran

“America knows that while anyone can make war, only the most courageous can choose peace,” President Donald Trump said in an address to the UN General Assembly, saying a path to peace is available, and calling for aid in pressuring Iran after Saudi oil attacks on Sept 14.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has been receiving more and more requests from world leaders to have a meeting and discussion with Trump – mainly from French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

“What is important is that if he leaves the country without meeting with President Trump, this is a lost opportunity. Because he will not come back in a few months. And President Trump will not go to Tehran so they have to meet now,” Macron said.

“I think I agree with Emmanuel. You need to be the on the side of the swimming pool and jump at the same time,” Boris Johnson added in his meeting with Rouhani and Macron.

Rouhani said on Tuesday discussions to small changes were open to the 2015 nuclear deal if the US lifts sanctions, which are squeezing Iran’s economy, adding that the nuclear program has always been for the sake of peace – something Washington disagrees with, seeing it as a pursuit of nuclear power.

“All nations have a duty to act. No responsible government should subsidize Iran’s bloodlust. As long as Iran’s menacing behavior continues, sanctions will not be lifted, they will be tightened,” President Trump said, “America is ready to embrace friendship to all who genuinely seek peace and respect… The United States has never believed in permanent enemies. We want partners, not adversaries,” he added.

Some light has been shed as well on the ongoing trade war with China – one that continues damaging both countries’ economies.

“How China chooses to handle the situation will say a great deal about its role in the world in the future. We are all counting on President Xi as a great leader,” President Trump said as a comment on recent mass demonstrations in Hong Kong.

Reducing trade barriers through increasing tariffs on Chinese products is what Trump has set as a goal, while previously accusing Beijing of receiving beneficial treatment from the WTO as a “developing economy” and stealing trade secrets “on a grand scale”.

“Hopefully we can reach an agreement that will be beneficial to both countries. But as I have made clear I will not accept a bad deal for the American people,” President Trump said about the possibility of a deal with China.
