McGowan Critical of NY Times Reporter over Tara Reade

Reporter questioned Reade on her mother’s activities and Reade's personal finances.

Former actress, now activist, Rose McGowan took to Twitter to call out a New York Times reporter for questions allegedly submitted to Tara Reade.

Shots Fired at Times Reporter

New York Times reporter Lisa Lerer, also working as an analyst for CNN, allegedly sought a detailed list of answers from Tara Reade, who accused former Vice President Joe Biden of sexual assault.

The questions included inquiries about Reade’s mother’s activities, as well as personal information like financial issues, relocation, education, whether or not her ex-husband was ever a person of interest in a FBI probe, and many others on a wide range of topics.

“On Quora, you followed three Russian individuals – Andrey Davydov, Dima Vorobiev and Alex Korolev. How was it that you came to know of them and follow them?” one of the questions states.

While it’s not uncommon for reporters to be asking specific questions when making a report, media watchdogs, as well as critics have been disagreeing with Lerer’s alleged questions, although it still remains unknown how McGowan obtained them.

Some noted that Lerer was simply doing her job by asking the questions, while others like Fourth Watch editor Steve Krakauer said that this form of “journalistic character assassination gives all in the media a bad name.” Lerer and The New York Times did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
