The House of Representatives will vote today on an Obamacare replacement bill referred to by former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich as a "Better" version of the inially proposed American Healthcare Act that Republicans could not reach consensus on in late March.

House leadership believes this version has enough support to pass the lower chamber after modifications that are believed to be acceptable to the members of the House Freedom Caucus.

The revised bill contains a provision protecting people with pre-existing conditions and increases choice in many states. Congressmen Greg Walden, one of the architects of the American Health Care Act, told MSNBC's Morning Joe, "We've been reaching out for months and months saying what can we do to fix this market so that individuals have access to affordable health insurance? One out of every three counties in America, you have no choice but one. Five states you only have one choice."

He also stated that people with pre-existing conditions will remain protected in the new bill, and that a "safety net" of $8 billion for high risk pools has been added as well.

Representatives for the healthcare industry are opposed to the new bill with AARP's former top lobbyist John Rother telling Politico, "A bill that's completely opposed by the whole healthcare establishment is very, very difficult to pass,"
