Democrats will move forward with impeachment, while President Trump welcomes their efforts.
A Conclusion to the Saga?
“The facts are uncontested. The president abused his power for his own personal political benefit at the expense of our national security by withholding military aid and (a) crucial Oval Office meeting in exchange for an announcement of an investigation into his political rival,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said as part of her speech.
“Sadly, but with confidence and humility, with allegiance to our Founders and our hearts full of love for America, today I am asking our chairman to proceed with articles of impeachment. … The President leaves us no choice but to act because he is trying to corrupt once again the election for his own benefit,” she added.
Pelosi’s announcement was made just a day after three of four experts said that the president had displayed conduct and actions worthy of impeachment. The House Judiciary Committee now has to draft articles of impeachment against Trump, but the president welcomes it excitedly:
“If you are going to impeach me, do it now, fast, so we can have a fair trial in the Senate, and so that our Country can get back to business,” Trump said.

The impeachment saga might finally be coming to an end after arguing whether or not the president broke the law and used his power for his own benefit, and if impeachment goes to the Senate, only the facts will be reviewed, putting Republicans in a much more favorable position.
