Playing Spoiler? Sanders Vows to Remain in Race

Bernie Sanders will remain in the race at least for a little while longer despite Biden’s growing lead, the Vermont senator said Wednesday.

Will Sanders Drop Out After Sunday or Will He Go Up Against Biden?

Wednesday saw Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders acknowledging his deficit against Biden overall, although the Vermont senator also noted that he is very much favored over the former Vice President in terms of voters under the age of 30.

Sanders didn’t specifically say whether or not he will be dropping out after Arizona’s Sunday debate with rival candidate Biden, although he said that he will remain in the race and keep his campaign going at least until then in order to get some answers from Biden regarding economic inequality and the country’s fraying social safety net.

Sanders suffered defeats in Michigan, Missouri, Idaho and Mississippi against Biden on Tuesday night, although he won North Dakota and the Washington state count was very close.

“While our campaign has won the ideological debate, we are losing the debate over elect-ability. That is what millions of Democrats and independents today believe,” Sanders said, referencing a majority of voters’ view that Biden is the candidate better suited to go up against Trump later on this year.

Sanders promised to question Biden about the Americans living without health insurance, the criminal justice system, targeting of minorities, as well as raising the federal minimum wage. Sanders’ campaign also canceled a Tuesday night event in Cleveland over coronavirus concerns, and said that future events are being evaluated case by case.
