Former Ronald Reagan aide and current Trump administration economic advisor Larry Kudlow was taken to Maryland's Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after suffering a heart attack on Monday.
"Our Great Larry Kudlow, who has been working so hard on trade and the economy, has just suffered a heart attack," Trump wrote in a tweet from Singapore. The President is currently in Singapore attempting to broker a deal to denuclearize North Korea.
Kudlow had just accompanied the President last week in Canada for what was a very controversial G7 Summit. The Summit made news over Trump's big talk regarding tariffs and what many saw as potential harmony, splintered shortly after the President left Canada and tweeted he was pulling back his approval of a joint statement by the group.
Kudlow, a former fixture on CNBC had appeared on what can be called the President's least favorite network, CNN, on Sunday to echo the President's position on his breaking from the other G7 countries.
Although he is the Trump's top economic advisor, he is thought to be opposed to the idea of tariffs, although he has pledged his intent to help Trump implement the strategy.
