Trump unleashed on Adam Schiff regarding his handling of the impeachment inquiry and his illustration of the infamous July 25 phone call that Schiff presented in September.
A “sick” liar
Taking a small detour from global issues, Trump was asked by reporters about Adam Schiff, and what he would hope to learn from him should Schiff testify in an impeachment trial.
“I learn nothing from Adam Schiff, I think he’s a maniac. I think Adam Schiff is a deranged human being. I think he grew up with a complex for lots of reasons that are obvious. I think he’s a very sick man, and he lies,” Trump told reporters.
Schiff, on the other hand, has been “fighting” Trump, telling CNN last week that the case they have against the president is “ironclad” and making allegations that the White House is “stonewalling” the impeachment process.
Trump’s comments about Schiff came just a day before the first formal impeachment hearing in the House
The House Judiciary Committee will see the House Intelligence Committee Democrats voting on and releasing an impeachment report, which will be sent to the Judiciary panel, something Republicans have been hoping to see happen.
House Republicans also wrote a letter to Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, although not quite a love letter:
“Under your leadership, bipartisan solutions to real problems affecting real Americans have been sacrificed in favor of Committee Democrats’ obsession with impeaching the president and undoing the 2016 election,” the letter reads.
Republicans have also been fighting the impeachment inquiry, matching every point the Democrats have made, and insisting that the collected evidence does not support the accusations against Trump, and that it shouldn’t even be considered an impeachable offense, even if it is portrayed as one anyway.
