On Sunday, Rep. Joe Courtney and Rep. Bryan Steil reported they were infected with Covid-19. Both members are currently in quarantine.
On his Twitter account, Steil wrote that he experienced “mild symptoms” after working in Washington DC and his coronavirus test appeared positive. Upon the result, "I am immediately quarantining and will continue serving the people of Southeast Wisconsin from my home in Janesville."
At the same time, Courtney stated that after his first COVID-19 test turned negative, the second came back positive and he will “keep performing my duties in a safe, remote fashion while isolated at my home."
Joe Courtney added that now it’s more important than ever to follow the CDC rules and “remain vigilant about wearing masks, social distancing, and the basic essentials like washing our hands frequently."
After Johns Hopkins University reported 3 million new COVID-19 cases this month, the House started offering free coronavirus tests for their members.
