On Tuesday, the chief of the local police reported that a shooter killed one woman, two men, and another 15 individuals who were badly wounded. The attack involved at least one “Islamic terrorist” who was gunned down by Austrian officers. In a press conference, Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammersaid stated that the killed terrorist was an ISIS sympathizer wearing a fake explosive vest.

Austrian minister of the interior Karl Nehammer said they were "dealing with a terror attack the severity of which, thank God, we have not experienced in Austria in many years.'' Nehammer also asked people to stay home, and the city of Vienna tweeted that "there will be no compulsory schooling in Vienna tomorrow."
Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz tweeted that the Austrian police "will take decisive action against the perpetrators of this hideous terrorist attack." President Donald Trump also extended his thoughts and prayers through Twitter while at the same time stating his support to end terrorism.
"Our prayers are with the people of Vienna after yet another vile act of terrorism in Europe. These evil attacks against innocent people must stop. The U.S. stands with Austria, France, and all of Europe in the fight against terrorists, including radical Islamic terrorists," - President Donald Trump's tweet expressing his condolences over Vienna terror attack
The attack was also condemned by the French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, and the White House.
