A Republican gunning for Trump in the 2020 elections? Who is Joe Walsh?

Here he is attempting to bait Reactionary Times Editorial Director Julio Rivera into bashing Trump:

Many see Walsh as an opportunistic, back-stabbing also ran, but for the purpose of this piece we will give you some accurate information on the former Congressman. Walsh, a politician, is a former conservative talk radio host and a Republican challenging Trump for president in the 2020 elections. Walsh served one term in the US House of Representatives from 2011 to 2013, but he was often criticized for attacking Democrats and then-President Barack Obama, although later on, he came to regret some of his comments.

Walsh declared his challenge against President Trump on Aug. 25 this year. As he's wanting to battle Trump for the White House, he’s now focusing on Iowa, despite admitting that many Iowans might not know about his campaign.

A lot of Republican support for Trump in Iowa has drawn Walsh to the state, hoping to present himself as the perfect alternative and a preferable candidate to Trump:

“Donald Trump has screwed Iowa. I mean, big time,” Walsh told the Des Moines Register, talking about Iowa farmers and the Trump administration’s waivers to oil refiners and trade war with China.

When asked what he’d do if he were president, Walsh said that on his first day in office he’d remove tariffs, and definitely wouldn’t let “big oil producers tell him what to do,” sharing that despite his challenge to Trump, he voted for him in 2016 and used to be very similar in behavior to Trump.

Now, though, Walsh has changed a bit, looking at his past self, apologizing for past “personal attacks” he made towards people, and saying he realized the “ugly” things Trump has said and written.

“Iowa is everything to this campaign. If we don’t do well, then we got nothing. Period,” Walsh said to wrap up the interview in Davenport with the Des Moines Register, gunning for support and hoping to win the state against Trump in the 2020 race.

Walsh, playing the "changed man" role epitomizes everything people have come to hate about politicians and therefore everything people love about Trump.
