Mr. Pompeo is a former Army officer who graduated first in his class from West Point.
The President went on the offensive Monday against what he anticipates will be obstruction by Capitol Hill Democrats stonewalling against the ascension to Secretary of State of nominee Mike Pompeo and possibly VA Secretary nominee Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson.

The president communicated his concerns via his communication tool of choice, Twitter.

Concerns about Jackson's level of experience for running an agency the sheer size of the VA have surfaced while Trump's declaration regarding Pompeo comes ahead of a key vote Monday in the Foreign Relations committee. Every Democrat as well as Republican Sen. Rand Paul have reportedly vowed to vote against Pompeo.

Many other positions in the State department as well as dozens of Ambassadorships remain to be filled. The Democrats may look to create roadblocks as a part of their political posturing in advance of November's critical midterm election.
