Zuckerberg: I’ve ‘Become More Religious’

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg shares some of his recent religious revelations to a tech summit.

“Things That Are Bigger Than Yourself”

Friday evening Zuckerberg was attending the Silicon Slopes Tech Summit, in which he gave a speech to an audience and later an interview, sharing some of his discoveries about religion and how it can impact one’s life.

“The last few years have been really humbling for me. I’ve become more religious. … We all need to feel like we’re parts of things that are bigger than ourselves. I try to put my girls to bed every night … I don’t always get to do that but that’s important to me. Work is important … but at the end of the day we’re all people, and you need your family and friends and communities around you,” Zuckerberg said.

“You have to believe in things that are bigger than yourself,” he added.

His religious discoveries and revelations were mostly influenced by problems Facebook has had to deal with in recent years, as well as the birth of his two children, per Deseret News.

Zuckerberg once defined himself as an atheist, although he was “raised Jewish” and has previously answered a question regarding religion in 2016, saying that he “questioned things” when he was younger, but “now I believe religion is very important.”
