Bill Taylor Testimony is Nothing More Than a Smear Campaign

White House attacks “far-left lawmakers and radical unelected bureaucrats” in a statement on Tuesday, following comments Bill Taylor made in Congress.

Taylor, acting ambassador to Ukraine, said to Congress in his opening statement that military aid would only come to Ukraine if President Zelensky complies with Trump’s wishes and immediately announces the beginning of investigations into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

“During that phone call Ambassador Sondland told me that President Trump had told him that he wants President Zelensky to state publicly that Ukraine will investigate Burisma and alleged Ukrainian interference in the 2016 US election,” Taylor said in his opening statement.

“President Trump has done nothing wrong – this is a coordinated smear campaign from far-left lawmakers and radical unelected bureaucrats waging war on the Constitution,” the White House responded in a statement.

A phone call between Trump and Zelensky on July 25 became the focus point for a whistleblower complaint, followed up by an impeachment inquiry against Trump by Democrats, involving the Bidens and their business in Ukraine.
