China VIOLATES UN Sanctions

President Trump criticized China via Twitter on Thursday after learning that Chinese ships transferred oil to North Korean vessels at sea in direct violation of U.N. sanctions over the North Korean nuclear weapons program.

Last month, Trump completed what was thought to be a very productive trip to Asia, which included a visit with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Trump was very happy with the trip, claiming it was a good start to making up ground on the US trade deficit with China.

Tuesday the South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo ran a story in which unidentified South Korean government officials said U.S. reconnaissance satellites observed Chinese ships transferring oil to North Korean boats 30 times since October in the seas off China.

Chinese officials claim they have "strictly enforced" trade restrictions.
