Cindy Grosz: Brooklyn Jews Claim They Support Trump, Yet Register New Voters As Democrats

You can’t be a fan of President Trump and register as a Democrat

Several major local public leaders within the religious Jewish communities of Brooklyn have decided to have a new voice in future races. There is a drive to get first time voters to register as Democrats.

Why?

These are the same communities that complain about the following:

Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio have “targeted” Jewish religious schools, synagogues and simchas when placing blame on COVID safety violations. Yet they allow riots and protests when it comes to the anti-Semitic group, Black Lives Matter.

Jews believe that they can choose the lesser of two evils in a Democratic primary. They spent thousands of dollars in primaries they lost.

They watched the two Jewish Council Members, singled out and/or sanctioned by fellow Democrats for standing up for Israel.

Religious Jews in Brooklyn helped elect Attorney General Letitia James and Public Advocate Jumaane Williams.

James’s office is more obsessed with suing President Trump than punishing those attacking Jews.

While this voter registration drive claims to be nonpartisan, I have been told that informal discussions are swaying uneducated potential voters to register as Democrats and I have been given this information and I have been asked to join them:

Why is it so important to vote in this year's City Council Election?

Thirty-five open City Council seats and a flurry of political activity not seen in at least 20 years — that's what experts are predicting for 2021.

And while the attention of the world right now seems to be on this November's election, here at home, the City Council will see major turnover.

For the first time in 20 years, all winners will serve a two-year term as opposed to the usual four.

"What some people might say is chaos, to me is just fantastic, because it's about engagement," said Eric Lane, the former executive director and counsel of the 1989 New York City Charter Revision Commission.

"We thought that we would change the terms every 20 years for the council to two years instead of four years to allow new challenges under the new lines," Lane said.

"The new lines are reflective of equality and the power of people's votes," Lane continued.

He's talking about district lines, all set to be redrawn after this year's upcoming census, likely bringing changes to the council's legislative map.

A regular election calendar would call for elections in 2021 and 2025.

But, next year, anyone elected to the council will only serve for two years. Then, there will be an election in 2023 for another two-year term. Candidates will be able to run for a full, uninterrupted four-year term in 2025.

Amy Loprest, executive director of the New York City Campaign Finance Board, said the organization is gearing up for increased interest in running for elected office.

"We anticipate up to 500 candidates running in 2021, again because of the improvement to programs that increased eligibility to matching funds and would reduce the need to rely on big contributions," she said.

Here is what should be done:

Pool together you votes, volunteers, donations and education programs to gain power in the Republican Party. You claim you love the President, he needs local and state government support.

Use your power to challenge the nonexistent Brooklyn GOP. The fact that seat after seat is left empty or filled with unqualified “benchwarmers” means it’s time for change.

Brooklyn Jews, you have two choices — either walk helpless into the a Democrat party that really doesn’t want you and pretend they are your friends like Rabbi Wise led American Jews to help FDR, or be a Jewish Partisan, and fight for your survival in Brooklyn, New York and America.

You can’t win where you are not wanted.

You can’t be a fan of President Trump and register as a Democrat. He needs you to vote for Nicole Malliotakis for Congress and NOT vote for Hakeem Jeffries and Yvette Clarke.
