Cindy Grosz: Can Trump Grow His Jewish Base?

Just like in the book of Genesis, Trump has to have a political “flood” to clear the “waters” of chaos

Does Donald J.Trump really want the Jewish Vote?

I believe he does. I am a supporter of the President. I want him to win, so much so, that I ran for Congress as a pro-Trump candidate.

Just like in the book of Genesis, Trump has to have a political “flood” to clear the “waters” of chaos and bring rationality and actions to his Jewish campaign if he wants any kind of increase in Jewish support.

According to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, a survey of American Jewish voters said that 67 percent plan to vote for Joe Biden in November and 30% plan to vote for US President Donald Trump. The numbers in the survey released this week by the Jewish Electorate Institute broke the same way when voters were asked about Trump’s performance: 67% said they disapproved and 30% said they approved.

In a time like no other, we have a commander-in-chief that actually does what he says. He has proven himself an ally to Blacks, to Asians, to Hispanics and to Jews. In November, Republicans running for office that support President Trump, as well as the Trump-Pence ticket will see record numbers of every minors group exit the Democratic Party, except the Jews.

Here Are Some Reasons Why Trump Will Get Support From Minorities

Historically, Jews have been taught to “go with the flow” and assimilate for power. They found acceptance in America’s Democratic Party and accepted the welcome by voting, funding and even holding office. Young people still believe that FDR and John Kennedy were great leaders with the best interests of Jews around the world. Today, we know otherwise.

President Trump’s triumphs supporting Israel, moving the Embassy to Jerusalem, and the latest peace agreements are incredible. Yes, he deserves BOTH Nobel Peace Prizes. However, the Jews who elected him live in America. Their priorities are security and the economy. American Jews are going through times of uncertainty. They want changes and results here and now.

American Jews live predominantly in Democratic areas. They continue to register as Democrats, vote in Democrats on the local and state levels and think that doesn’t hurt President Trump. I started the Jewish Vote GOP group to initiate first time voters, help change and update registration status, including switching from a Democrat to Republican and applying for an absentee ballot. We also educate a voter on important deadlines, local candidates and issues in a community.

While President Trump is recognized universally as being a great friend of Israel, his team of advisors are not doing right for the campaign as being a friend for all Jews. It is a myth, not a fact that all religious Jews are Republican and all less observant are Democrats. Stereotypes like this hurt the campaign.

The Trump team has ignored a huge voting block, something I have mentioned to several senior campaign staff members for over a year. I suggested a Jewish Voices For Trump coalition months ago. Only immediately after the Abraham Accords ceremony did the official group finally get announced. It’s let’s than fifty days away, too little, too late.

Also, the advisory board is mostly big money donors. The Trump campaign team needs those big donors, but despite the idea that every Jew is rich, many Jewish supporters feel neglected and taken for granted. This is another big reason Jews have little allegiance to vote for Trump and straight Republican down the line.

What good is a Trump victory without a Republican House and Senate. How much more impeachment and never ending investigations should taxpayers finance while healthcare and education improvements are nowhere on an agenda? By ignoring thousands of grassroots Jews, you turn them off.

The Abraham Accords was a perfect opportunity to feature the republican candidates to an international audience. There are a record number of Jewish candidates in all levels of campaigns, but you would never know it. The press doesn’t feature them and organizations like NORPAC and the Republican Jewish Coalition don’t help out every Jewish candidate.

So, how does Donald Trump improve his numbers within the Jewish world. He needs to visit them and have rallies in New York, California and New Jersey. Perhaps he needs to visit a synagogue or Chabad on a college campus.

While Donald Trump enjoys a great relationship with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Jewish college students face increasing anti-Semitism at alarming rates.

Jews are preparing their holiest of days next week. They are afraid to attend religious services. It is not because of coronavirus, but the harassment and bullying from rioters, looters and Jew haters. They want to hear that they will be protected.

Jews need to hear to numbers and statistics of success we hear about Black or Hispanic employment. We need to hear the schools will teach accurate facts about Jewish history, Israel the Holocaust the same way we hear about criminal justice reform.

President Trump, there is a small window to improve your Jewish support. Use it wisely to Make Jewish Votes Great Again!
