Dancers Outside Brooklyn Jail a ‘Trojan Horse’ for Sex Cult Nxivm

A dance group, which has been holding dances in support of inmates in Brooklyn, has been labeled a “trojan horse” for sex cult Nxivm, a new report claims.

A “Cover Movement?”

As Keith Raniere – the convicted leader of infamous upstate sex cult Nxivm awaits sentencing at the Metropolitan Detention Center on several charges including sex trafficking, racketeering and forced labor conspiracy, a new report claims that the nightly dances held in support for Brooklyn inmates began as a “cover movement.”

The Times Union was told by former members of the cult that key organizers of the We Are As You campaign are loyal disciples of Raniere, with one of the sources being Mark Vicente – a former high-ranking member within the cult who previously testified against Raniere.

A handful of associates of the dance group refused to say whether or not the movement has anything to do with Raniere or if it is in fact supporting him, as others said that the movement is all for the quarantined inmates’ entertainment as they have gone for months without any visits from family or friends.

The dance group’s website also describes it as a “nightly dance demonstration… to remind those inside [the jail] they are not forgotten.” It’s unclear how many of those participating in the movement are involved with or familiar with Raniere and the sex cult Nxivm, although the Times Union reported that Kay Rose is code for Keith Raniere, with signs reading “We miss you Kay Rose” and “Love U Kay Rose” being spotted near the dancers.

Vicente told the paper that at least six of the dancers’ leaders are well-known members of the Nxivm cult, with many former followers turned cult critics fearing that those with loved ones inside the jail will support the movement without being fully aware of its real purpose.

“It’s for all the friends and family who have people inside,” a We Are As You staffer responded when asked if he knew about any connection between the cult, Raniere and the dance group.
