How to Fix the "Service Registration Is Missing or Corrupt" Error on Windows 10

  3. In the Services window, right-click on the Windows Update service and select "Properties" from the context menu.
  4. In the Windows Update Properties window, under the General tab, set the "Startup type:" to Automatic.
  5. In the Windows Update Properties window, under the "Service status:" section, check the status of the service. If it is stopped, click the Start button.
  6. Click Apply and then OK.
  7. Apply the same settings to the "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" and "Cryptographic Services" services, also discoverable in the Services window.

Reset Microsoft Store Cache

  4. Wait for the command to be executed. 
  5. Check if the "Service registration is missing or corrupt" error is fixed. 

Reset Configurations 

  1. In the Start menu, type "cmd" without quotes.
  2. Right-click on the Command Prompt app and select "Run as administrator" from the context menu.
  3. In the Command Prompt, type the following commands, one by one, waiting for each to be executed before you enter the next one:
    1. net stop wuauserv
    2. net stop cryptSvc
    3. net stop bits
    4. net stop msiserver
    5. ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    6. ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
    7. net start wuauserv
    8. net start cryptSvc
    9. net start bits
    10. net start msiserver

Reinstall .NET Files

  1. Open the Start menu and type "Turn Windows features on or off" and select the "Turn Windows features on or off" suggestion.
  2. If Windows asks you whether you allow this app to make changes to your device, click Yes.
  3. In the Windows Features window, uncheck all boxes associated with the ".NET" keyword. 
  4. Click OK and wait for Windows to apply the changes.
  5. Go back to the Windows Features window and check all unchecked ".NET" boxes. 
  6. Click OK and Wait for Windows to restart the features.
  7. Restart your computer and check if the "Service registration is missing or corrupt" error is fixed.
