On Thursday, the governor of Katsina Aminu Bello Masari announced that over 300 Nigerian boys were freed from the terrorist group Boko Haram. Reuters reported that the schoolboys already were on the way back to Katsina and will be reunited with their families after their medical examination.
Over 100 Children Still Missing
Gov. Masari told the reporters most of the boys have been recovered, but “It’s not all of them.” According to an anonymous source cited by BBC, the kidnappers are still holding some of the boys.
The schoolboys were kidnapped from the Government Science Secondary School in Kankara, which was attacked by armed men on Friday. The Islamic group Boko Haram has abducted students before, and one of the abductions happened in April 2014, when the terrorists kidnapped 300 girls from Chibok. Approximately 100 of them are still missing.
