Kentucky Governor Beshear Goes Into Quarantine

The Governor’s office reported that all family members will be regularly tested for the virus

On Sunday, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear announced he will go into quarantine. The Democratic governor said he has decided so after a member of his security team tested positive for coronavirus.

Gov. Beshear added that his wife and their two children also will quarantine, although they feel fine and have no COVID-19 symptoms.

The Governor’s office reported that all family members will be regularly tested for the virus. According to Andy Beshear’s spokeswoman Crystal Staley, the governor and his wife Britainy Beshear were last tested for COVID-19 on Thursday.

In a Sunday footage, Gov. Beshear said he’s dedicated to “setting an example” by quarantining after receiving the phone call of the possible virus exposure.

The governor also added that they are “doing what those tracers ask us and others to do,” and will stay in quarantine “until the (state) Department for Public Health says that we’ve completed what we need to.”
