Kyle Rittenhouse to Sue Biden Campaign for Defamation

On Tuesday, Rittenhouse's attorney Lin Wood said he is going to insist on a formal 'public retraction' from Biden campaign

Kyle Rittenhouse’s lawyers announced they will sue Joe Biden and his campaign for defamation. The decision was provoked by a video which Biden shared on Twitter hinting that the boy is a white supremacist.

Kenosha Shooter Will Sue Biden Campaign

On Tuesday, the 17-year-old shooter’s attorney Lin Wood said he is going to insist on a formal 'public retraction' from the Biden campaign.

The footage posted on Twitter involved a mix of scenes from white supremacist rallies and far-right groups across the US while the debate moderator Chris Wallace is asking Donald Trump if he would condemn the racist parties.

The video material also shows an image of Kyle Rittenhouse who holds a rifle during the Kenosha protests, where he is accused of killing two protesters.

'There's no other way to put it: the President of the United States refused to disavow white supremacists on the debate stage last night,' Joe Biden wrote on Twitter.

His tweet got more than 273,000 likes and was retweeted over 67,000 times.

"[A] formal demand for public retraction is being prepared for Biden/Harris Campaign on behalf of Kyle Rittenhouse. I also hereby demand that [Joe Biden] immediately retract his false accusation that Kyle is a white supremacist & militia member responsible for violence in Kenosha," Lin Wood responded.

"On behalf of Kyle Rittenhouse, I shall sue Joe Biden & Biden/Harris Campaign for libel."

A bit later, Wood announced that lawyer Todd McCourty is joining Rittenhouse's legal team in this case.

"Presidential candidate [Joe Biden] had defamed Kyle Rittenhouse by suggesting on this video that he is a White Supremacist. The#Left just will not stop. I am working on the retraction demand now for Mr. Biden and his campaign," Todd McCurty tweeted.

Neither Biden nor Harris replied to this tweet.
