The decision comes after the extremely chaotic and intense debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden in Cleveland

On Wednesday, the Commission on Presidential Debates announced that they should add “additional structure” to the debate format to “ensure” a “more orderly discussion” of problems.

Will Changes to Debate Structure Favor a Particular Candidate

The commission’s decision came after the extremely chaotic and intense debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden in Cleveland on Tuesday.

In their statement, the CPD wrote that “The Commission on Presidential Debates sponsors televised debates for the benefit of the American electorate,” and the “Last night’s debate made clear that additional structure should be added to the format of the remaining debates to ensure a more orderly discussion of the issues.”

CPD also added it will be “carefully considering the changes that it will adopt and will announce those measures shortly” and that it “is grateful to Chris Wallace for the professionalism and skill he brought to last night’s debate and intends to ensure that additional tools to maintain order are in place for the remaining debates.”

The analysis by Fox News proved that Biden interrupted Trump 49 times and Wallace 18 times for a total of 67 times. At the same time, the US president interrupted Biden 71 times, Wallace 74 times for 145 times in total.

The CPD is a sponsor of two additional debates between Trump and Biden - on Oct. 15 in Miami and on Oct. 22 in Nashville. The vice-presidential debate will be on Oct. 7.

According to the Communications Director of Trump’s campaign, Tim Murtaugh, "President Trump was the dominant force and now Joe Biden is trying to work the refs.”
