Man in Jetpack Spotted Flying Over LAX Airport

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that “a Chinese Airlines crew reported what they say appeared to be a jetpack-powered figure flying at 6,000 feet some seven 7 miles northwest of LAX airport.”

The same thing happened in September when pilots on two separate flights reported they spotted a man in a jetpack approaching LAX.

The FBI and FAA are Investigating the Incident

According to the FAA, “Two airline flight crews reported seeing what appeared to be someone in a jetpack as they were on their final approaches to LAX around 6:35 p.m. PDT Sunday.”

The aviation safety expert Steve Cowell told Fox 11 he was convinced that the “American pilot was very definitive about what he saw out his window.”

At the same time, the CEO of Jetpack Aviation David Mayman had doubts about pilots seeing a man in a jetpack since the technology is highly experimental.

The industry expert added that he was ready to be surprised, however, he doesn’t think “there’s anyone working on technology that could do a flight from ground level to 3,000 feet and then come back down again.”
