New Impeachment Poll Split Along Party Lines

With the second week of public hearings beginning, a new poll was conducted to see whether or not Americans’ opinions have changed on the impeachment proceedings against President Trump, and it seems like the numbers haven’t been influenced much by the now-open investigation, remaining about even.

Poll Results

The NPR/PBS poll showed that few would be influenced by testimony in the public hearings, with numbers being split along party lines.

The time frame for the poll was 4 days, between Nov. 11 and Nov 15, with a margin of error of 3.5%, 1,224 adults were interviewed and the numbers are as follows:

45% support impeachment, with 82% being Democrats, 39% independents, and 7% Republicans, while 44% disapprove, showing slightly more in favor of impeachment, despite the fact that the numbers come from primarily Democrats.

The stance people have on whether or not it’s acceptable to ask a foreign government for aid to get dirt on a political opponent is unchanged, with 70% agreeing it’s unacceptable for a president to ask for it.

In addition, a good amount of people have said they are following the inquiry and news surrounding it, although, 65% have said that they doubt there’s anything that could happen that would completely flip their stance on the matter.
