Schiff May Be Blocking Release of Russian Investigation Transcripts

Access to the materials was described as "necessary," according to Republicans

Nearly two dozen House Republicans allege that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff is “blocking” transcripts related to the Russia probe.

Transparency and the Lack Thereof

Fox News obtained a letter, written by House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jim Jordan, and signed by another two dozen House Republicans, in which the GOP accuse Schiff of blocking transcripts of the Committee’s Russia probe. The letter calls for access to interview transcripts and other materials.

The letter is directed to Schiff and Rep. Devin Nunes, referencing the investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. The committee reported in 2018 that “the Trump campaign did not collude with Russia,” after investigating and interviewing more than 70 individuals and over 300,000 documents. The committee also voted to release “53 transcripts,” which are still nowhere to be found.

The letter called the news quite disturbing, especially taking into consideration Chairman Schiff’s “cries in 2019 for transparency regarding allegations that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.” Jordan continued, saying that Americans deserve transparency on why figures like Schiff have been promoting “such wild accusations.”

Access to the materials was described as necessary for the “ongoing oversight of the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” the Republicans wrote.
