The recent revelation of a taxpayer funded "slush fund" that was set up to settle sexual misconduct cases involving members of the House and Senate was one of the bigger bombshells of 2017.
Most of the information regarding settlements is sealed and not immediately available to the general public but on the heels of Congressman John Conyers' disgraceful exit from the House of Representatives, today we have the shameful resignation of a possible front runner for the 2020 Democratic Presidential Nomination.
Minnesota Senator Al Franken stepped down, perhaps weeks later than he should have amid new accusations, including one from a woman who said he forcibly tried to kiss her in 2006, an accusation he has denied.

Franken still used the speech as an opportunity to take parting shots against President Trump, who had been previously plagued by unsubstantiated accusations of misconduct by women that surfaced just prior to the 2016 Presidential Election last fall.
"I, of all people, am aware that there is some irony in the fact that I am leaving while a man who has bragged on tape about his history of sexual assault sits in the Oval Office and a man who has repeatedly preyed on young girls campaigns for the Senate with the full support of his party," Franken said.
Maybe Hollywood will welcome former Senator Franken with open (Groping) arms.
