According to sources who spoke to the website Vox, President Trump grilled Attorney General Jeff Sessions and FBI Director Christopher Wray in January regarding the two senior FBI officials (Peter Strzok and Lisa Page) who were still employed by the agency after sending text messages disparaging him.

Strzok and Page, who Trump accused of treason in a Tweet last February, were also discovered to be having an extramarital affair. The 2 FBI agents were found to have sent numerous text messages bashing Trump while they were working on the agency’s investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server in 2016. They also were very critical of Clinton and Bernie Sanders during that same time period.

In a White House meeting on January 22, Trump is alleged to have asked why Strzok and Page still had their jobs and pushed Attorney General Jeff Sessions and FBI Director Christopher Wray to work harder at securing more information that they could give to congressional Republicans to discredit the two lovebirds. The next day, Trump met with Sessions and pushed the AG have the two fired.

As of press time, the FBI has declined to comment.
