On Tuesday, Donald Trump announced he has “terminated” the Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Christopher Krebs.
In his Twitter account, the President wrote that the top cybersecurity made a “highly inaccurate” statement about the safety and security of the latest presidential election.
Refusing to concede to Joe Biden, Donald Trump tweeted that the voting process was full of “massive improprieties and fraud” and his claims were labeled with a warning sign.
The CISA head told US residents “to treat all sensational and unverified claims with skepticism,” as according to him, no evidence for election fraud was found.
On a press conference on Election day, Krebs stated that no matter what the voting result will be, “there is a common bond that is stronger than political affiliation and that is that we are all Americans,” and told people to “keep calm and let them count on.”
On Tuesday, the Cybersecurity head wrote on Twitter that “59 election security experts all agree” that the allegations on systems manipulation “have been unsubstantiated or are technically incoherent.”
Just an hour after his termination, Christopher Krebs tweeted he was “Honored to serve” and added, “We did it right.”
In an interview for NBC News, Krebs said he was proud of his work and teammates at CISA.
According to internal sources, the CISA head had been on so-called "death watch,” and the question was “when, not if,” Krebs would be fired.
