Outrageous Viral Videos Show On-Duty NYPD Officers Getting Buckets of Water Thrown at Them

What better way to build a good relationship with your local police department than to douse them with water? At least that is what a crowd of hooligans in Harlem thought Monday afternoon. Two viral videos have been circulating on social media where multiple individuals throw buckets of water at NYPD officers in the NYC neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Harlem.

One of the videos shows young men hurling buckets of water at two police officers performing an arrest in Harlem. The second one shows another two officers getting doused while walking on a sidewalk in Brooklyn. While all this is happening, you can hear the laughs and cheers of onlookers as the police officers get humiliated. At what point did it become acceptable to disrespect our police officers?

Former NYC Mayor Rudy Guiliani condemned the incidents on twitter stated that this environment is the result of Current Mayor Bill de Blasio’s anti-police rhetoric and liberal policies, such as the “hands of approach,” that impede officers from responding adequately to this type of behavior.  NYPD Chief Terence Monahan called the acts “reprehensible” and stated that every New Yorker should show respect to NYPD officers.

Indeed these attacks are reprehensible to say the least. The liberal media is always screaming how the police should do more to improve their relationship with the citizens they protect and serve. However, that same rhetoric has encouraged some to think they can actively disrespect police officers.
