Perhaps the most memorable moment at this year’s political rally that was disguised as the Academy Awards ceremony was, without a doubt, Glenn Close’s rendition of “Da Butt” dance. As Close advised those in attendance, “Da Butt” was featured in the 1988 Spike Lee movie "School Daze," in a performance by the go-go band Experience Unlimited.
As a result of the impromptu Oscar performance, there is now renewed interest in the song and the film, and shortly after the Oscars, Lee took the opportunity to give his thanks to Close on Instagram.
